Sauze d'Oulx  Ski and snowboard hire

  Guide price list equipment

Ski, board & boot rental  boots  skis  snowboards  ski deposit  ski & snowboard service

Children under the age of 14 must wear helmets whilst on the piste in all Italian ski resorts.

Equipment can be booked on arrival.  We have negotiated 10% discount for Flexible Breaks customers at Clotes Ski Hire shop.

The hire shop offers optional insurance to cover your hired equipment in case of damage or breakage.  It is worth taking out, especially if the snow conditions are not perfect.

Useful tips

Remember the colour and hire shop number on your skis or snowboard, especially when you leave them outside a mountain restaurant whilst eating your lunch. The other skis around yours may look the same, but the bindings will be set for someone else and thus not suitable for you.

Boots  skis  snowboards  ski deposit  ski & snowboard service

Ski boots should fit you snugly, so your heel is not loose, but should not be so tight that they hurt!  The hire shop staff will show you how to fasten the clips. Snowboard boots are usually soft, and again should fit snugly.

Skis

Let the hire shop staff know how many times you have skied before and what length skis you prefer (if you know).  They will need to know your weight, so that they can set the bindings correctly (a safety setting that releases the skis from your ski boots should you fall over).

All skis are now carving skis, which are slightly shorter than the old style straight skis, and are much easier to turn on.  With the skis comes a new style of skiing, so it's good to get a private lesson to learn how to keep up with your skis.  We offer a selection of skis for all abilities, from standard to racing, so make sure you ask which will be best for you.

Don’t forget the ski poles, which should be about as high as your arms extended at right angles (from the elbow) in front of your body.

Snowboards  boots  skis  ski deposit  ski & snowboard service

Let the hire shop staff know how many times you have boarded before, and if you are regular or goofy (if known).  There are snowboards for soft boots and hard boots (normally just for experienced boarders), and the bindings may be in the form of straps or step-ins.

Ski deposit

If you do not wish to carry your skis or board back to your accommodation or walk through the village in your ski boots, you may pay to leave your skis and boots in a heated deposit at the Clotes Ski Centre.

Ski and snowboard service

The Clotes ski centre offers ski and snowboard waxing or edging and a full service.  They can also customise your own ski boots to give you the perfect fit.

Please note: We do not guarantee that the prices charged by our recommended suppliers will be the cheapest available.
