Meribel
lift passes contain an electronic chip,
which is scanned as you
enter the lift. This saves removing gloves, fumbling in pockets and
obviously reduces the risk of losing the pass. No photograph is
required.
The Meribel lift
company offer their own on-line lift pass sales, so you should book your
lift passes through them:

‘Carte Neige’ piste
insurance can be purchased for an additional €2.50 a day. This covers any
costs to get you off the mountain and immediate medical care should you get
injured but only whilst on the piste. If you require this you must
order it at the same time as your lift pass, as it cannot be added
afterwards.
There
are two main types of lift pass available in Meribel - one covers only the
lifts in the Meribel Valley, and the other covers all of the 3 Valleys. It
is also possible to extend the Meribel Valley lift pass to a full 3 Valley
lift pass. There is also a lift pass for non-skiers (pedestrians), which can
be purchased on arrival.
The 3
Valleys pass gives unlimited access to all the lifts and runs in the region.
It also entitles holders to a day in another 1992 Olympic resort e.g. Val
d’Isere, Tignes, La Plagne and Les Arcs.
Free
lift passes are available for children under 5 or adults 75 and over.
Discounted lift passes are available for children aged 5 to 12 and adults
between the age of 65 and 74. Proof of age must be provided for any reduced
price or free lift pass.
A
discounted Family Pass is available (both Meribel Valley and 3 Valleys) for
a family of 2 adults and 2 children under 18, which offers significant
savings.
